Evan Brown

The Sycamore School

Class of 2026

I am 14 years old. I have dyslexia and ADHD, and I love working on projects.

My favorite sport is ultimate frisbee I have been playing since the middle of 5th grade and I have loved playing it. Some other things I like to do is play chess because it requires a lot of focus and thinking and I like the way that it is difficult and I can improve. I also am taking under grade level coding work in school I have been coding since I was in 3rd grade and I love the thinking behind it. it challenges me to think outside of the box in advanced ways. I also do a bunch of other things like running and biking and helping people build computers and even more!

I am excited to work for this because I think it is a good after school activity and I love the idea of helping people that need the help that with the resources we have. I like the group idea and working together.

$956 NEEDED

$3000 GOAL

Sub-Saharan Africa has experienced some of the highest growth rates globally over the past 10 years. While this means that people in these nations have become more optimistic about their social and economic future, the region continues to face a myriad of historical problems. In order to continue steady growth and achieve a future of equitable conditions in the region, our International Internship Program team seeks to build stronger communities from the grassroots level through fundraising for community development.

Funds raised are used to implement community-based education programs, pay staff to run the operations on-site, and invest in training for local leaders. Leadership Initiatives uses fundraised money to develop a network of support for actionable change and accountability between our team, the Leadership Initiatives staff, and the community stakeholders we work with.
